Moldes hillfort

Castro de Moldes is undoubtedly of great importance for the parish, inserted in the context of the castreja culture that prevailed in the Northwest Peninsular during the Iron Age. The traces found reveal an intense romanization of that region. The well-known spolium is rich and varied and contains, in addition to the usual fragments of common pottery from the Roman, Castro and Medieval times, many other elements which stand out, due to their rarity, the bronze helmets and cups that appeared with the earthworks for the construction of a house at the foot of the settlement, as well as a coin from the time of Emperor Augustus, which suggest that it was around the change of the Age, between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD, that the village met its apogee.
